Nepal

The opening of the magnificent Shinta Mani Mustang has skyrocketed Nepal to the top of our 2024 list. Called “The Forbidden Kingdom”, Mustang only opened to foreigners in 1992. This region sits at the border of Nepal and Tibet, resulting in a fascinating religious landscape perfect for cultural immersion as you explore its temples and towns.

Pair a visit to Mustang with the ancient city of Kathmandu and a flight over Everest. The more vertically inclined have many trekking opportunities including the famed Annapurna trail.

**Mexico**

Mexico saw a surge of interest during pandemic times given the relaxed requirements and close proximity to the US. The result? The last few years have been slower as the world opened back up and travelers opted to go further afield.
We now see this destination trending in 2024 as people rediscover the white sand beaches, insanely good food, and rich history of Mexico. Our top destinations include Oaxaca, Mexico City, San Miguel de Allende, and Bacalar.

Madagascar

Luxury travelers to Madagascar have not historically had many options when it comes to accommodation. That’s all changing with the opening of several new chic camps. While we’re perennial fans of Miavana, Time + Tide’s stunning private island, we’re excited to explore new properties including one in the rarely visited Namoroka National Park.

**Chile**

Chile is another destination that has seen some high profile openings recently. In particular, Nayara, the brand behind some of the top resorts in Costa Rica, has opened new properties on Easter Island and the Atacama Desert.
Chile is home to what may be the most striking scenery in the world and no stop is complete without a visit to Patagonia, one of our favorite places in the world.

Kenya

While it’s flown under the radar for the last few years, several high profile openings have our attention back on Kenya. We love how accessible Kenya is with many direct international flights to Nairobi.

You can’t miss a visit to the Masai Mara, but pair it with a lesser known park like Amboesli. That’s the site of Angama Amboesli, a new offering from the folks behind Angama Mara, one of the top safari lodges in Africa.

**Saudi Arabia**

The first properties are opening in “The Red Sea Project”, a piece of stunning coastline that’s been sectioned off to build a major tourism hub. Think overwater bungalows on a turquoise ocean – only this isn’t the Maldives.
The first property in the project, Six Senses Southern Dunes, just opened. It features gorgeous villas with plunge pools that stare off into an endless sea of dunes. The first overwater villas are set to open at the St. Regis soon.
Paired with the thriving hub of Riyadh and the ancient city of AlUla, visitors will soon be spoilt for choice when visiting the Kingdom.

Grenada

The opening of a new Six Senses resort on Grenada has piqued our interest. Imagine returning from a day of scuba diving in the “Shipwreck Capital of the Caribbean” to a massage at the always amazing Six Senses spa. Hiking through rainforests or relaxing on a sandy beach, Grenada has that Kamira blend of adventure and rejuvenation. Combined with direct flights from many major US cities, it’s a perfect long weekend escape.
